Wine Lover’s Dinner

An elegant evening celebrating all things fine wine, the 2012 Wine Lovers Dinner was well attended, raising over $19,000.00 for healthcare enhancements throughout the north.  Guests dined on spectacular cuisine prepared by the Coast Inn of the North’s Executive Chef Sean Rankin and his culinary team, complemented by wine pairings from guest winery Oliver Twist Estate. The gastronomic experience was guided by winery representative Marty Ethier, who provided insight to wine pairings and wine making while the event was by emceed Ron Polillo, of the Pattison Broadcast Group.

The Honorable Pat Bell did an amazing job as the auctioneer.  Included on the auction block were  a Dinner in the Vineyard at Quail’s Gate Winery; a Hubbell Designer Goldsmith ruby and diamond necklace; and a weekend getaway for four to Kelowna to attend Grey Monk’s  ‘Ultimate Okanagan Chefs’ Table’ event.  Notable items featured in the silent auction included a double magnum of Laughing Stock’s 2009 Portfolio and a La Stella vertical of 2006, 2007 and 2008 vintages.

The Spirit of the North extends a heartfelt thanks to all the guests of the evening; the participants in the live and silent auctions; the donors of the many auction items and to the Coast Inn of the North for hosting this annual fundraiser.

In addition, we would like to recognize the Pattison Broadcast Group, Ron Polillo and the Honourable Pat Bell for their support of the evening, as well as Marty Eithier from Oliver Twist Winery.

All proceeds from the live and silent auctions will be used to enhance healthcare in our community.
