Tim Hortons – Wayne & Carol Beebe

Tim Hortons is a very community minded corporate citizen, and has continuously demonstrated this by their involvement with the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. Each year the proceeds of the Smile Cookie Campaign are designated to the Spirit of the North, raising in excess of XXX over the years. In addition, regardless of the event, we have always been able to count on a donation of treats and coffee for our volunteers, as well as at our Drive Through Breakfast during the annual Radiothon in September outside the hospital. Carol and Wayne Beebe, owners of several Tim Hortons stores in Prince George, have fostered a spirit of philanthropy among their staff, by their own personal commitment to our community, so it is not surprising that so many of their staff members are on the list of volunteers for the various events that the Spirit of the North hosts throughout the year.

2006

Costco Wholesale

Year after year, the employees of Costco band together in the month of May to raise money for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. Through raffle ticket sales on a Bar-b-que, the sale of cardboard Teddy Bears to the customers and the implementation of individual Goody Bags, the staff strives to exceed the previous year’s numbers in their goal of fundraising for the Maternal Child Centre of Excellence at the Hospital. The Prince George Costco is one of the only ones in Canada where the funds stay local to help enhance healthcare in their own community. This commitment, in addition to their involvement in many of the other fundraising initiatives that the Spirit of the North hosts throughout the year, have earned the Prince George Costco Wholesale store an Award of Merit.

2010

PG FIREFIGHTERS – LOCAL 1372

The Prince George Firefighters – Local 1372 have selected the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation as their Charity of Choice for the annual Firefighters’ Harley Davidson Raffle. Completely donating their time, from November to March each year they sell out 3,500 tickets and are on hand to award a lucky winner with the keys to a brand new Harley Davidson on draw day. In addition, the PG Firefighters support the Festival of Trees; assist in answering telephones at the annual Spirit of the North week and Radiothon. A highly respected and visible team in our community, the Foundation is honoured to have been chosen by the Prince George Firefighters as their charity of choice when it comes to volunteering and raising money for our community.

Diane Rogers

As Past President of the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, Diane has demonstrated her passion for the work being done by the Foundation through her generous support of all special events and fundraising activities. She can be found at the golf course greeting guests for tournaments; knee deep in the heart of designing a tree for Festival of Trees; on the podium making and receiving donations at Radiothon and Spirit of the North week as well as any of the other events hosted by the Spirit of the North throughout the year. Her passion and commitment over the years have been greatly appreciated, and have set a standard for others on the Board of Directors.
