Megan Simmons - June 2025 Volunteer of the Month

We are proud to recognize Megan Simmons as our Volunteer of the Month for June. Megan has been a dedicated supporter of Spirit of the North for the past few years, generously offering her time and talents to a variety of events, including her ongoing role on our Festival of Trees Committee. As People Resources Manager for locally owned and operated McDonald’s restaurants, Megan is deeply committed to giving back to the communities of Prince George and Vanderhoof. This past month, she played an essential role in the success of our 12th Annual PG Cougars Alumni Charity Golf Tournament, contributing her creativity and time to both the tournament and our Annual Spirit Day fundraiser. Always quick to lend a hand, Megan approaches every request, no matter how last-minute, with a smile and an enthusiastic “I can help.”

“There are a few reason why I give my time and volunteer with Spirit of the North.

First is no matter who we are or where we live, access to quality healthcare is something we all deserve - and being able to support that mission felt incredibly meaningful to me.

What started out as a fun way to get involved when I first moved here - volunteering at the Festival of Trees - quickly turned into something much more. It became a community, a purpose, and eventually, a FAMILY. The Spirit of the North team is full of passionate, caring people, and it's a privilege to stand beside them in supporting healthcare advancements right here in the North.” - Megan

Thank you, Megan. You are a valued and inspiring member of Team Spirit, and we are truly grateful for the time, heart, and energy you give. The work we do simply wouldn’t be possible without dedicated volunteers like you.
