2026 Cawsey Nursing Education Award Applications Now Open

Third-year UNBC nursing students are invited to apply for the Emery and Geraldine Cawsey Nursing Education Award, an annual $1,000 nursing education award supporting students as they prepare to enter their fourth year of study.
Established in 2018 by Emery and Geraldine Cawsey, this award recognizes compassion, dedication, and a strong commitment to nursing care. It is awarded annually to a student who reflects the values at the heart of the profession.

2026 Susan Broomsgrove Legacy Bursary Applications Now Open

Applications are now open for the Susan Broomsgrove Legacy Bursary, an annual $3,000 nursing education bursary awarded to a third-year UNBC nursing student who is preparing to enter their final year of study.
Established by the Broomsgrove family, this bursary reflects Susan Broomsgrove’s lifelong commitment to nursing, learning, and mentorship. It recognizes a student who demonstrates passion for the nursing profession and a commitment to serving communities across the North.

Born with a congenital heart condition, Cyris has faced more medical battles in 20 years than most do in a lifetime—including open-heart surgery and a brain tumor.
