A Weekend to Remember: Cougars 2026 Retro Weekend & Mega 50/50
What a weekend!
On March 13 & 14, the CN Centre was full of energy as the Prince George Cougars faced off against the Wenatchee Wild for Retro Weekend 2026. From retro jerseys to the fan-favourite “Jersey Off The Back” moments, it was a celebration of hockey, community, and connection.
And in true Northern BC fashion, the stands were filled with people showing up for something bigger.
Mega 50/50 & Community Impact
Saturday night’s Mega 50/50 draw, featuring a guaranteed $50,000 jackpot courtesy of MasonLift, delivered in a big way, reaching over $150,000. One lucky fan went home with more than $75,000, while the other half will directly support life-saving cardiac care at UHNBC through Spirit of the North.
Throughout the weekend, the fun didn’t stop there. From Chuck-a-Puck to an unforgettable intermission dodgeball tournament on ice, every moment contributed to a greater purpose.
Proceeds from the dodgeball tournament supported Kordyban Lodge, helping ensure families travelling for care have a warm, welcoming place to stay close to their loved ones.
Because of this community, patients can access care closer to home, and families can stay together when it matters most.
Powered by Partnership
This weekend wouldn’t be possible without the incredible partners who continue to show up for our community.
Thank you to MasonLift for their generous support as the presenting sponsor of the Mega 50/50 guaranteed jackpot, and to the Prince George Cougars for their ongoing commitment to giving back and creating meaningful opportunities to support healthcare in Northern BC.
To every volunteer, sponsor, and fan who participated—whether you bought a ticket, tossed a puck, played along, or cheered from the stands—thank you.
Celebrating Ongoing Impact: Cougars Alumni Charity Golf Tournament
During the weekend, we were also proud to celebrate the continued impact of the Prince George Cougars Alumni Charity Golf Tournament.
Thanks to the dedication of the Cougars Alumni, the Cougars organization, sponsors, volunteers, and participants, the tournament has now raised well over $800,000 since its inception in support of cardiac care across Northern BC.
A special thank you to Northland Dodge, the tournament’s presenting sponsor, for their continued leadership and support of this incredible event.
We’re already looking ahead to this year’s tournament on July 3 & 4, 2026, and the continued impact it will bring!
What Community Looks Like
This is what happens when a community comes together.
It looks like packed stands, shared laughter, and unforgettable moments..but more importantly, it looks like patients receiving care closer to home, families staying together, and lives being changed across Northern BC.
And that’s something truly incredible.
