Supporting Connection and Mobility for Terrace Seniors

Community is stronger when we move together. Through a meaningful partnership with United Way British Columbia, we’re proud to contribute to the launch of a new 10-seat community van serving seniors in Terrace.

This initiative, supported through United Way BC’s Aging in Motion (AIM) program, helps remove one of the biggest barriers facing older adults in northern communities: access to reliable transportation.

In regions like Terrace, where essential services, social opportunities, and even neighbouring communities can be long distances apart, transportation isn’t just about getting from point A to B. It’s about maintaining independence, staying connected, and continuing to participate in everyday life.

This new van is already helping seniors attend medical appointments, complete essential errands, and take part in social and recreational outings. It’s creating opportunities for connection that might not otherwise be possible.

Through programs like the Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS), it’s also opening the door to shared experiences, new friendships, and a renewed sense of belonging.

We’re proud to support United Way BC in bringing this initiative to life and to be part of a collaboration that strengthens community well-being across the North.

When organizations come together with a shared vision, the impact reaches far beyond a single project. It creates lasting change.
