Hayden’s Story
WISHBONE DAY 2026 FUNDRAISER
💛 Hayden and his family first started this fundraiser in 2022 with a simple goal… to give back to the pediatric community that has cared for him so well.
Every six months, Hayden receives IV treatment from the Endocrine Team at BC Children’s Hospital, who travel to UHNBC in Prince George. For families across Northern BC, clinics like this are incredibly important. What could feel overwhelming is made lighter by a team that brings compassion, comfort, and care to every visit, not just for patients, but for their families too.
Since that first fundraiser, Hayden has continued to show his big heart year after year in support of children receiving care in Pediatrics at UHNBC. This year alone, he has already raised over $850 in 2026, making a real difference for kids going through their own medical journeys.
A big part of Hayden’s experience is the incredible support system he has here. That includes his special friend Jazz, a therapy dog who has been part of Hayden’s journey from the very beginning. Jazz brings a calm, comforting presence during treatments and brightens the day for so many children receiving care. A heartfelt thank you to Sandra, Jazz’s mom, for sharing her time and compassion with patients and families.
To give back, Hayden has been busy creating his Wishbone Day fundraiser. Each handcrafted keychain features six beads to represent May 6, Wishbone Day, and this year he has also added bookmarks for those who love to read and support at the same time.
Items are $10 each, and 100% of proceeds go directly to the Pediatric Wing at UHNBC. These funds help provide toys, games, and small gifts for children receiving treatment. For many kids, those moments of play and recognition can make a stressful experience feel a little less scary and a lot more manageable.
Thank you, Hayden, for turning your own experience into something that helps so many others.
