HockeyFest 2025

THANK YOU FOR AN INCREDIBLE WEEKEND!

Help bring cancer care closer to home

HockeyFest is the largest growing travelling street hockey festival fundraiser in North America, and came to Prince George for the first time ever - all in support of the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation!

A multi-day three-on-three/four-on-four (plus a goalie, division-dependent) outdoor road hockey festival open to ALL GENDERS and AGES FROM 7 to 75+ YEARS OLD, HockeyFest is a fast-paced, community-driven fundraising event where players of all skill levels come together for fun, connection, and a great cause.

Each team is guaranteed a minimum of four games, with 70% of teams making the playoffs. Each game is played on a 50% NHL-sized branded rink, complete with real dasher boards and netting to keep play fast and continuous.

Whether you're playing or cheering from the sidelines, there's something for everyone at HockeyFest! Spectators can enjoy a full weekend of family-friendly entertainment including interactive games, giveaways, live musical performances, a beer garden, incredible local food trucks, and even a bouncy castle!

The event partners with local referees, vendors, minor hockey associations, and affiliate teams to create volunteer and setup opportunities, with financial contributions staying in the community to support our cause. With a strong focus on fun, family, and community, HockeyFest is sure to deliver a one-of-a-kind street hockey experience.

HockeyFest isn't just about the action on the rinks, it's a celebration that brings our entire community together. Whether you're a die-hard hockey fan or simply looking for a fantastic weekend out with family and friends, HockeyFest offers something special for everyone.

Three Days of Non-Stop Entertainment

Friday, September 19 | 3PM - 7PM

The excitement begins Friday with tournament games running from 5:00pm-7:00pm, but the real party starts at 3:00pm with our community festivities. From a bouncy castle to interactive games and exciting giveaways (all by donation), there's never a dull moment. Live bands provide the soundtrack while you explore food trucks and unwind in our beer garden watching fast-paced street hockey action.

The perfect warm-up before the Cougars' Home Opener at 7:00pm!

Saturday, September 20 | 8AM - 6PM

Saturday brings the biggest day of activities, running from 8:00am to 6:00pm. The tournament continues with intense competition, and the entertainment keeps the energy high throughout the day. Watch skilled players battle it out on multiple rinks while enjoying the same great mix of food, music, and family activities that make HockeyFest more than just a tournament—it's a genuine community festival.

Another Cougars game at 6:00pm makes it a full day of hockey celebration.

Sunday, September 21 | 8AM - 3PM

Sunday caps off the weekend from 8:00am to approximately 3:00pm with championship games, final ceremonies, and the presentation of awards. It's the perfect way to celebrate the incredible teams, volunteers, and community members who make HockeyFest possible while enjoying one last round of entertainment, the beer garden, and delicious food truck offerings.

Come witness the crowning of champions and be part of the celebration that concludes an unforgettable weekend of hockey and community spirit.

No ticket required—just bring your family, your friends, your community spirit, and donations to take part in the action. Come for an hour or stay all weekend. Watch the games, enjoy the entertainment, grab some great food, and be part of something that's making a real difference in healthcare for Northern British Columbia.

At just two years old, Mavrik is facing high-risk neuroblastoma - a cancer no child should ever have to endure. A huge Prince George Cougars fan, he should be watching hockey, not fighting for his life hundreds of kilometers from home.

Instead, Mavrik is undergoing intense treatment in Vancouver: chemo, surgery, and more. The good news? His tumor has shrunk by 90%. But his fight continues, and so does the distance from family, friends, and the comfort of home.

No child, nor their family should have to leave their community to get the care they need. Mavrik’s journey is a powerful reminder of why we need cancer care here in the North.

Mavrik is just one example of why Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation is bringing HockeyFest 2025 to Prince George this September to support better cancer care in Northern British Columbia. The good news is, your voice in healthcare starts here.

The stories of families like his are endless, but together, we can change the ending.
