Media Release: Festival of Trees announces exciting new home at CN Centre
Prince George, B.C., Tuesday, September 9, 2025 – After 31 wonderful years at the Prince George Civic Centre, the Festival of Trees is preparing for its next chapter. This year, the beloved community tradition will take place at the CN Centre, a move that brings more space, easier access, and the opportunity to reimagine Festival for the future.
Proudly presented by Trinity Financial Services, the 32nd annual Festival of Trees is set to welcome thousands of visitors to its new home in 2025.
“We are so thankful to the Prince George Civic Centre for being the home of Festival for more than three decades,” said Aimee Cassie, CEO, Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. “It has been the heart of countless memories and traditions. This move to CN Centre is about building on that legacy and ensuring Festival continues to grow with our community.”
A Bigger, Brighter Festival Experience
The expanded space at CN Centre will allow Festival to think bigger than ever before. Much-loved areas such as the Big Tree Area, the Children’s Area, and the Gift Shop will all be given room to grow, while last year’s popular outdoor market will move inside and transform into a vendor concourse circling the upper level. With the added space comes the ability to expand public hours, ensuring that more families, schools, and visitors can experience the magic of Festival throughout the week.
Parking and accessibility are also major wins. CN Centre offers far more parking and multiple access points, making it easier for people of all ages to attend. Schools will be able to bring more students, families will find it easier to arrive together, and seniors will benefit from more convenient access.
Powered by Volunteers and Community Spirit
Festival of Trees has always been powered by volunteers, and this next chapter is no exception. From the original volunteers who helped launch Festival 32 years ago to the hundreds who contribute today, the excitement for the move is shared across generations. Their passion and dedication ensure that Festival continues to thrive, keeping traditions alive while embracing the opportunity to grow and evolve for the future.
Supporting Healthcare in Northern BC
While Festival is known for its holiday magic, its purpose has always been larger: supporting friends, families, and neighbours through stronger healthcare at UHNBC. Over three decades, Festival has raised millions of dollars for healthcare in Northern BC, and the move to CN Centre ensures that this tradition of generosity will only grow stronger. The larger venue also creates a positive economic ripple effect for Prince George, drawing more visitors, supporting local vendors, and highlighting the spirit of community giving.
Gratitude for Community Support
Festival of Trees would not be possible without the passion of sponsors, the dedication of volunteers, and the generosity of supporters. Each year, it is this collective effort that brings Festival to life, allowing thousands of people to enjoy its magic while strengthening healthcare close to home.
New Traditions, Timeless Magic
With this move comes an opportunity to refresh and reimagine. New highlights this year include a special Seniors’ Day and a festive Ladies’ Night, while beloved traditions will continue, including the much-loved Santa Breakfast and the elegant Festival of Trees Gala. This balance of new experiences and cherished favourites ensures there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Event Dates & Tickets

A Whoville Twist
As always, Festival of Trees will be filled with wonder, lights, and traditions. This year, a playful surprise awaits: the theme is Whoville. Inspired by Dr. Seuss’ classic, visitors may just feel like they’ve stepped into a storybook world where the magic of the season comes alive.
And in true Whoville style, here’s how we’ll say it best:
“From Civic to CN, the Festival moves,
With sparkle and laughter, with bright Whoville grooves.
A new home for magic, for families to cheer,
The wonder of Festival grows bigger this year!”
