The StarGuide System is Officially Up and Running

We’re excited to share that StarGuide, a next-generation SPECT/CT system, is now operational at UHNBC! This advanced technology is already expanding the Nuclear Medicine Department’s ability to support patients from across the North.

Right now, the system is being used for cardiac, neurology, and oncology imaging. With faster scan times, excellent image quality, and a more comfortable overall experience, the team can accommodate more cardiac patients while delivering high-quality care.

StarGuide isn’t just meeting today’s needs - it’s built for the future! Its advanced capabilities open the door to upcoming upgrades and innovations within the Nuclear Medicine Program, helping ensure UHNBC remains at the leading edge of modern care.

The system also supports cancer treatment by helping precisely target cancer cells with high-energy radiation, while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
